アニメ58話、漫画では88話で、エレンがグリシャから継いだ巨人の名前が進撃の巨人と判明。
ここでタイトル回収となります。

その巨人は、いついかなる時でも、自由を求めて進み続けた。

His name is "The Attack Titan".

名は進撃の巨人。

英語版の進撃の巨人のタイトルは

Attack on Titan

attack on は、～に対する攻撃という意味なので、巨人への攻撃または進撃になってしまいます。

なので、英語だと伏線の面白さがない。

日本語版の「進撃の巨人」だと自由を求めて進撃する巨人という本来の意味が含まれるのに対して、英語版はこの意味を持たない。。

英語のタイトルはいつも日本語のタイトルをそのまま直訳するわけではなく、音の響きで変えてしまうことがあるようです。

Attack on Titan is not completely incorrect.

This title is a disservice to the story since what the title actually refers to is not an attack on titan, but rather the titan who is finally able to lead the human out of darkness and toward victory.

The true meaning of titan is a titan that has always fought on for freedom, continuously advancing towards that goal of freedom.

English titles are not always a direct translation of the Japanese ones. They just made it sounded better in English that way.

大人気シリーズ鬼滅の刃の映画「無限列車」が10月16日から公開されました。

Fuji Television broadcasted several of the episodes of the series on October 10 and October 17 to raise the anticipation among fans.

劇場の中にはフル稼働して、朝6時から公開し、1日に42回も公開しているところもあります。

カジュアルな表現としては「put off」も使える。

会議を延期するときの英語表現について紹介する。

ということで食欲を抑える方法について紹介します。

水をたくさん飲むこと

Drink plenty of water.

夜8時以降は食べない

夜遅くに食べると効率よくカロリーを消費できない。

早食いしない

TVを見ながら食べない

Don’t eat in front of screens including TV, computers, phones. 

脳がお腹が空いているのか、お腹がいっぱいなのか判断する。早食いや見ながら食べは、食べることに集中しておらず、脳がお腹いっぱいに感じることに意識がいかないので、もっと食べたくなるのだ。

Eating quickly or while you are distracted can make it more difficult for your brain to recognize that you are hungry or full.

You don’t pay attention to whether you are full and satisfied or not. As a result, you are more likely to consume excess calories.

８巻では高校生活から話が10年後に飛んで、27歳になった安達としまむらが出てきました。

安達としまむらはお金を貯めて、高校の修学旅行前に話していた「サンフランシスコ」へ海外旅行に行きます。 

しまむら

「旅行なんていつ以来だろう」

When was the last time we traveled?

安達

「んー...高校の修学旅行以来？」

Hmm... Our high school trip?

27歳になってもマイペースな安達としまむらのやり取り。

でも大人になっている様子が窺えます。

しまむら

「いつか、安達との話も思い出ばかりになるのかもね？」

There maybe come a day when all Adachi and I talk about is the past?

安達

「素敵なことかも」

I think that'd be a wonderful thing.

相変わらずの安達っぷりも見られます。可愛い。

８巻では有名なカニの看板（famous crab sign）の話が出てきますが、サンフランシスコにあるフィッシャーマンズワーフのシンボルで、サンフランシスコを象徴するもののひとつです。

フィッシャーマンズワーフは「漁師の波止場」を意味し、19世紀半ばから水揚げが盛んな漁港として栄えています。サンフランシスコのウォーターフロント北部に位置する有名な観光地です。

サンフランシスコは確かにしまむらが言う「青い空、白い雲が吹き抜けて爽快でやっほーいな場所」です。

自分は今までに4回行ったことがあります。

ちなみに安達はサンフランシスコをサンフラと略していました。 

サンフランシスコ (San Francisco)の略称はSF (エスエフ)です。フリスコ (Frisco)やサンフラン (San Fran)と言う人も多いです。

安達のも近い。笑

安達としまむら10 （電撃文庫） [ 入間　人間 ]

鬼滅の刃の英題 「Demon Slayer」がしっくりこない件

「鬼滅の刃」の英語のタイトルは「Demon Slayer」となっています。

slayは殺○すると意味で、slayerは"殺○するひと"や"殺○するもの"のこと。

つまり鬼殺し＝鬼を殺す刀って解釈できます。

Devilish Blade と訳されている場合もあります。これだと"悪魔のような刃"って意味。

個人的にはDemon Killing Blade (鬼殺し刃) がいいと思うんだけど。

長いからだめかなぁ。

でもオリジナルのタイトルは元々「鬼殺（きさつ）の刃」を想定していたらしい。

ただ、これだと殺が強すぎるので「鬼滅」となったようです。

アニメ「鬼滅の刃」の海外での評価はというと、IMDbのスコアが2020年9月時点で10点満点中8.7なのでかなりの高評価と言える（平均は6.5-7.4くらいで、一番高評価のものが「ショーシャンクの空」で9.2）(Highest rating is 9.2 for the movie the shwashank redemption.)。
